| 内容記述 | 本研究では、英語のコミュニケーション能力について、インド人と日本人のビジネス ・ パーソンのELF (English as a lingua franca)使用場面に関する聞き取り調査から考察した。まず、ELFの先行研究を概観し、ELFが使用される接触場面における異文化間コミュニケーションで起こり得る問題点について述べる。次に、 コミュニケーション能力についての知見を整理し、ELF研究との関連について考える。調査方法は、インドにある日系企業に勤務するインド人と、日本人のビジネス ・ パーソンそれぞれの座談会を開きその結果を分析する。ビジネス ・ パーソン同士の会話に注目した理由は、日本人がもっとも接触する可能性があるのがビジネス ・ パーソンだからである。両者が接触場面のコミュニケーションにおいてどのような点に配慮しているのか、どのような点に苦労をしているのかを、それにどのように対応しているかを抽出した。最後に英語コミュニケーション能力の獲得のために何が必要かを検討した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | Abstract: This paper considers ELF (English as a lingua franca) in intercultural settings, and universal communication skills. The group discussions were conducted in Bangalore, India in 2017 with Indian business persons and Japanese business persons. They discuss conversation break down from their experiences. Indian people claim that short messages from Japanese business persons are difficult to understand. They try to understand by asking questions to Japanese business persons. On the other hand, Japanese business persons feels different attitude in the talk. Such discourse style discourse different causes trouble for controlling meetings and communication. The topic they talked supports the concept of the communication skills are. It is clarified cultural values, turn-taking system and topic development are important in communication in intercultural settings. This paper will be the base for future discourse analysis in intercultural settings. |
