| 内容記述 | この小文では、ヨーハン・ゼバスティアン・バッハ（以下、バッハ）が作曲したクリスマス・オラトリオBWV 248（英語では”Christmas Oratorio”、ドイツ語では”Weihnachts-Oratorium”）に焦点を当てる。聖譚曲と訳されるオラトリオという言葉について繙（ひもと）くと「ヘンデル、ハイドンやメンデルスゾーンの典型的なオラトリオを考えるなら『おおむね宗教的な題材による大規模な叙事的楽曲で、独唱・合唱・管弦楽を用い、音楽は劇的に作られるが動作や背景衣装はしない』と説明することができる。しかし歴史的にはオラトリオはその限界がもっとも不明瞭な曲種のひとつであり、とくに教会カンタータや受難曲や宗教的オペラとの区別が困難である」とある。本稿ではこれらを踏まえて、バッハとその作品について触れた後、クリスマス・オラトリオを構成するアリア（旋律的独唱）、レチタティーヴォ（朗唱的独唱）、合唱やコラール（讃美歌）など、各々の楽曲について分析し考察する。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This article is focused on Christmas Oratorio BWV 248 (“Weihnachtsoratorium BWV 248” in German) composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. The Oratorio consists of six cantatas that describe the story from the birth of Jesus to his epiphany. After reviewing Bach’s cantatas, all of the musical pieces in the Oratorio, such as recitativo, aria, chorus, and choral, are investigated to appreciate the music of Christmas Oratorio more deeply. In addition, the relationship between the Oratorio and St. Matthew Passion BWV 244 is discussed. | |||||
