<dc:description>Architectural space is enriched with its form, shape and human activities, and also the transition and movement of natural elements (light, wind, sound, water, etc.). Introducing these elements into architecture and controlling them give various appearances in the space. Based on the above, we in our laboratory have studied the space effects of using water, one of these natural elements, in architecture since 1995. In this paper, for our future studies, first, I summarized the process of our past studies and examined our research method which was mainly based on the fieldwork, visiting the architectures and experiencing the spaces. Secondly, as an example of the results, I described and examined four types of water effects which are the shift and transition of place, time or mind. Lastly, by comparing effects of water sound in access spaces of two museums. l showed that those effects are related to the composition of space and the way of management of the two museums.</dc:description>
